Make a twitter-enabled mood light

For those curious about world-class gossip and twitter feeds, this might be the project for you. By connecting an Arduino to the Internet, it searches twitter for various words and memes that represent how people are feeling. Using that data the sketch controls an RGB lamp to display colours relative to the mood. Naturally that sounds somewhat ... different - however you could use the sketch to search twitter for more useful terms such as mentions of yourself or your organisation - and have the lamp or another device organise a warning of some sort.

Either way, click here to make your own. And for more, we're on twitter and Google+, so follow us for news and product updates as well.

When putting together your next Internet-enabled Arduino project - save time, space and money with the Freetronics EtherTen. Apart from being fully Arduino Uno-compatible, it has onboard Ethernet, microSD socket, full USB interface (so you don't need a costly FTDI cable just to upload a sketch!) and supports optional Power-over-Ethernet.
