"Home Ctrl28" - the Arduino/Android-based home automation system

The "Home Ctrl28" is a professional IP based remote control for home automation and small businesses, created by Klaus Pintoffl and based from a previous system design he created earlier. The system allows remote use of up to 28 functions, and also monitoring temperature sensors, real-time and offers encrypted levels of transmission for data security - all from an Android device. The hardware is based around an Ethernet-enabled Arduino Mega - our Freetronics EtherMega - and as a home automation system this is inexpensive and quite functional.

One of the major benefits of this system is the ability of the user to customise the server and hardware to their needs, unlike commercial systems. For more information, instructions and notes visit the project homepageAnd for more, we're on twitter and Google+, so follow us for news and product updates as well.

So what is an EtherMega anyway? Quite simply the most fully-loaded Arduino-compatible board on the market today. Apart from being completely Arduino Mega2560-compatible, it includes full Ethernet interface, a microSD card socket, full USB interface, optional Power-over-Ethernet support and still has a circuit prototyping area with extra I2C interface pins. So if your project is breaking the limits, upgrade to the EtherMega today.
