New from Freetronics - HBRIDGE Dual Channel H-Bridge Motor Driver Shield

Today we're excited to announce the availability of our new HBRIDGE - the dual-channel H-Bridge motor driver shield. It's a fantastic and simple method of controlling two DC motors, or one bipolar stepper motor from your Arduino-compatible board. Based on the Allegro A4954 H-bridge driver IC, the HBRIDGE has a peak rating of 40V at 2A. You can select the current limit per channel and also change the digital pin assignments with the onboard jumpers in the centre of the shield, as shown below:

With the HBRIDGE shield you can interface between robot or tank chassis that use a DC motor for each side, and also interface between the required external power supply and also power your Arduino board from it if need be.

Furthermore the shield is fully R3 compatible and like other Freetronics products has plenty of space for prototyping and adding your own circuitry. Controlling motors is quite simple - for twin DC motor control you don't need any libraries, just simple analogWrite() functions to drive the motors via PWM; and for stepper motors the default Arduino stepper library is idea.

However we don't leave you with just that, there's a complete Getting Started guide that will have you up and running in no time at all. For more information on the HBRIDGE, and to order - visit our product page
