The CNC-controlled Arduino marble maze

As a demonstration for an upcoming Maker Faire, Martin Raynsford created an interesting game using CNC hardware and an Arduino. It's a marble maze without any walls - instead, the CNC hardware beneath the maze surface moves a large magnet, which controls a ball bearing above the surface. The Arduino can accept user input via a PC to direct the ball in a similar manner to the Logo language, and presents the user with a challenge to direct the ball, for example:

That's a fun and interesting use of old CNC hardware, and easily controlled by Arduino - for more information visit the maze website. And for more, we're on twitter and Google+, so follow us for news and product updates as well.

When adding your own circuitry for an Arduino-based project such as the marble maze above, you'll need a protoshield to mount the external circuitry. In doing so, consider our range of ProtoShields. From the tiny LeoStick to the Mega range, we offer a complete range for you to work with.
