Reading Super Nintendo controllers with Arduino

If you're in the process of creating an Arduino-based game, robotic device or something that could use a simple form of user input, this tutorial may be of interest. Published by Damon Dransfield, it describes how to read a SuperNES gamepad with your Arduino or compatible boards. Although it may be a dated form of input, the gamepads are quite convenient when you need a durable and portable controller without having to start from scratch.

The hardware is simple, and you can find all the details on Damon's website. And for more, we're on twitter and Google+, so follow us for news and product updates as well.

When adding controls to your next Arduino project, you'll need a protoshield to mount the external circuitry. In doing so, consider our range of ProtoShields. From the tiny LeoStick to the Mega range, we offer a complete range for you to work with.
