Using the Chrome Serial API with Arduino

For a new way of controlling an Arduino board with a PC, this method described by Renaun Erickson from Adobe may be of interest. Renaun has demonstrated a serial API for Google Chrome that allows the Arduino to communicate with the browser via a Chrome extension. Then the rest of the controls can be implemented through a javadscript application. For a complete explanation Renaun takes us through the process in the following video:

if you're interested in controlling an Arduino remotely over the Internet - save time, space and money with the Freetronics EtherTen. Apart from being fully Arduino Uno-compatible, it has onboard Ethernet, microSD socket, full USB interface (so you don't need a costly FTDI cable just to upload a sketch!) and supports optional Power-over-Ethernet.
