Make your own vertical balancing robot with Arduino

 Inspired by the Segway personal transporter, Miguel Ángel de Frutos has demonstrated his robot that operates in a vertical fashion balancing on two wheels - his "Vertibot". Although the concept seems somewhat complex, Miguel has explained the required electronics as well as the physics theory related to the balancing. By using a "six degrees of freedom" sensor board and measuring the results every 10 milliseconds the robot can balance quite well, as shown in the demonstration video below:
