Music and electronics enthusiast Lee O'Donnell had wanted a bass pedal system, however couldn't justify the purchase price of a commercial unit. Instead, he used an Arduino and some pedals from an old organ to recreate his own - with great success. The Arduino platform and MIDI audio systems can work together well, and Lee has demonstrated that with his project. Apart from supplying the sketch and a few notes, the entire construction process has been documented so you can recreate your own - and in the following video the system is demonstrated in detail:
With hindsight the hardest part might be acquiring the pedals, however it's certainly achievable. Check out Lee's website for this and other interesting projects. And for more, we're on twitter and Google+, so follow us for news and product updates as well.
